Inspired by a love for the Black Forest Gateau this porridge is not only healthy, it’s absolutely delicious! A comforting classic, elevated with ceremonial-grade Ritual Cacao to make your mornings feel like a warm hug.

This recipe is so quick, easy and versatile. Perfect if you need a yummy fast fix to keep you going throughout the working day, or if you’re a mummy with a family to feed this may become a firm favourite, or on a cosy, peaceful Sunday morning all to yourself.

Recipe for 1 person - Vegan & Gluten Free

Ingredients

  • Organic Porridge Oats

  • Water

  • Milk of choice (optional)

  • Pinch of Salt

  • 2tsp of Ritual Cacao Crumbles*

  • 1-2tsp Date Syrup

  • 1tsp Agave

  • Dash of Cinnamon

  • 1tbs Cherry Jam

Instructions

  1. Add oats to a pot with water and cook to your liking, adding a tiny pinch of salt. When the porridge looks ready and the water has cooked down, add a dash of milk of your choosing and the cinnamon. Adding the milk is totally optional.

  2. When the porridge is at your perfect consistency, take it off the heat and pop in your Cacao Crumbles* to taste. We added 2 teaspoons, but it’s really up to you. Stir so the cacao begins to melt.

  3. Sweeten with date syrup and agave to taste, give it another good stir and pop into your bowl ready for the best bit…

  4. Top with a dollop of cherry jam or compote and then enjoy this joyous breakfast treat.


*This recipe can be made using any one of our cacao products.

If you have our Bars, Pods or liquor that comes in chunks, just simply shave/chop the cacao and sprinkle in as desired replacing the Crumbles.

Our Cacao Crumbles take the work of chopping out, so if you have more time on your hands working with the cacao, chopping it up while cooking is all part of the ritual.
