The Celtic cross-quarter festival of Beltane is a fire festival that marks the seasonal midpoint between the spring equinox and summer solstice. It celebrates the increase in vitality, fertility, and growth, after the cold, hard winter months. In ancient times, huge sacred fires were lit on hilltops, and it was customary for people and livestock to leap over the flames, or embers, as a ritual of purification and protection. The fire symbolised the sun and was believed to ensure a good harvest and healthy herds.

The festival was a major communal event, with music, dancing, food, and storytelling, celebrating abundance, life, and the shift into a more outward, active part of the year.

Unfortunately, because we no longer celebrate these important turns of the season we are separated from nature, and have forgotten to honour and tap into this time of abundance, fertility and vitality. When we align with these ancient festivals we feel more connected, empowered and in control. It's also essential to prioritise our well-being, especially during challenging times. Taking regular ‘sacred’ time to care for yourself can help your internal batteries stay charged, boost your mood, and improve your overall well-being. When we take care of ourselves, we are also better equipped to handle the challenges that come our way.

Ceremony begins at 7pm.

This is a ceremony and a sacred space - people arriving late can be very disruptive to the flow, and you may miss an important part of the ceremony. Please be mindful of this and come on time :)

What you need:

• A comfortable, peaceful and quiet space

• A journal & pen for recording your experience

• An intention for what you would like to manifest, release or journey with

• Water to drink

• An open, peaceful, and willing heart.

• Ceremonial cacao prepared

IMPORTANT INFO

• Please avoid consuming cacao if you are taking SSRI’s - (Cacao releases serotonin, so it works as a mild anti-depressant. When taken with SSRI’s that release serotonin chemically it can lead to serotonin syndrome).

• We suggest that pregnant woman and people with heart or high blood pressure medication should avoid it if they are caffeine sensitive. (if your are ok drinking coffee you are able to drink cacao).
