Spring Equinox Ritual: A New Cycle Begins
The March Equinox is a time of celebration and transition.
It marks the peak of spring, in the Northern Hemisphere, when day and night are of equal length, and the sun begins to warm the air, signalling the return of new life and growth.
A new cycle is beginning and this is the perfect time to embrace change and invite new opportunities into our lives!
One way to celebrate this Equinox, and bring in the new cycle, is through our Cacao & Water Ritual.
Water is a powerful symbol of renewal, and the act of bathing or cleansing in water can help purify the mind and body. It symbolises the washing away of old habits and patterns and invites new energies into our lives.
Cacao is a heart-opening plant medicine that has been used for centuries to connect with the divine, celebrate life's milestones, and hear the messages that the Cacao Spirit has for us.
Here's our Spring Equinox Cacao & Water Ritual, to help celebrate this new cycle
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
You'll need the following materials to complete this Ritual:
- A bathtub or large basin filled with warm water
- Epsom salt or bath salts
- A crystal or stone of your choice (preferably one that represents rebirth, new beginnings, or growth, such as clear quartz, amethyst or rose quartz)
- Sage or Palo Santo for smudging
- A towel
Step 2: Brew your Ritual Cacao
Cook up your ceremonial-grade Ritual Cacao, and send your intentions and prayers into it. What would you like the Cacao Spirit to show you?
Step 3: Cleanse Your Space and Mind
Before beginning the Ritual, it's important to cleanse your space and mind. Start by smudging the area around the bathtub or basin with sage or Palo Santo to clear any negative energy.
Take a few deep breaths and ground yourself in the present moment, letting go of any worries or stress that may be on your mind.
Step 4: Add Epsom Salt or Bath Salts
Add 1-2 cups of Epsom salt, or bath salts to the bathtub, or basin filled with warm water. These salts are known for their detoxifying properties, helping to release any tension or toxins from the body.
Step 5: Place Your Crystal or Stone in the Water
Choose a crystal or stone that resonates with you. Spend some time connecting with the it and asking it to give you any messages you need that will help you during this new cycle, and place it in the water.
Step 6: Drink the Ceremonial Grade Cacao
Once you have prepared your bath, drink your ceremonial grade cacao. Take a few moments to savour the taste and aroma of the chocolate, while reflecting on your intentions and goals for the coming season.
Allow the Cacao to open your heart, connect you with your inner wisdom, and celebrate the arrival of spring.
Step 7: Bathe in the Water
Gently immerse yourself into the warm water, allowing the salts and crystal to cleanse and soothe your body.
Clear you mind and sink into the water. Visualize any old patterns, beliefs, or situations that no longer serve you washing away, leaving you feeling revitalized and renewed.
You may get some strong messages and downloads while you soak in the water.
Take some time to honour the new beginnings and growth of spring and invite positive energies into your life.
** If you don’t have a bath, fill a basin with warm water and soak your feet in the Epson salts and the crystal or stone, while drinking your Ritual Cacao brew. Release any negative energies (stress, anxiety, worry) and visualise any old patterns, beliefs, or situations that no longer serve you washing away, out of the soles of your feet, leaving you feeling revitalised and renewed. **
Step 8: After the Ritual
Once you've completed your Ritual, take some times to reflect on the experience, journaling any insights or inspiration that came to you.
Carry your crystal or stone with you, as a reminder of the new beginnings and positive energy you've invited into your life.
With this Water and Cacao Ritual, you'll be celebrating the new cycle, connecting with yourself on a deeper level, and paving the way for positive change and growth.
