Just Breathe
IF YOU FIND YOURSELF GETTING A BIT PANICKY AND ANXIOUS AROUND FINANCES AND MATERIAL ISSUES REMEMBER TO BREATHE.
A GOOD WAY TO BRING YOURSELF BACK TO THE PRESENT IS BY BREATHING IN DEEPLY THROUGH THE DIAPHRAGM FOR THE COUNT OF SEVEN, AND BREATHING OUT FOR THE COUNT OF ELEVEN. THIS STIMULATES/RELAXES THE SYMPATHETIC AND PARASYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM AND IMMEDIATELY CALMS DOWN THE MIND SO WE CAN THINK MORE CLEARLY.
Once you’ve cooked your Cacao create a sacred space for the ritual.
Ask yourself these questions over your Cacao and see what answers arise:
On a scale of 1-10 (one being lowest) Are my needs being met:
Emotionally
Attention - Do you feel seen?
Emotional intimacy - Do you feel loved, respected and honoured?
Physically
Security - Do you feel safe?
Privacy - Do you feel violated?
Mentally
Sense of autonomy and control - Do you feel in control?
Status - Do you feel respected?
Competence and achievement - Do you feel successful?
Consciously
Feeling part of a wider community - Do you feel a part of something?
Meaning and purpose - Do you feel there is a higher force/power guiding you?
Be honest with yourself so you can see what areas of your life need changing.
It’s good to take stock of where you are, and prepare yourself for changes in energy. Spend some time in silence, just allowing your heart to speak. What is it saying? It is guiding us at every moment so if something or someone pops into your mind, follow up. The more you trust your intuition the stronger it becomes.
Another good way to feel better about things, especially if you are feeling a bit insecure, is to serve. Do one selfless act this week for someone that is not as fortunate as you. This opens the gateway of love and compassion, and we immediately feel more abundant and joyful. It also helps us recognise all the blessings in our lives making it so much easier to see all the gifts and magic life brings.
