How to use:

  • We suggest consuming around 20-25g cacao a day to nourish your body and brighten your mood.

  • A 42g dose is recommended for ceremonies and rituals such as shamanic journeys. 

  • 500g cacao can last about one month depending on usage.

PERUVIAN CACAO

  • Country of origin: Peru

  • Cacao bean: Criollo

  • Flavour notes: Peruvian cacao is rich, deep and indulgent. We find it slightly heavier and more bitter than Ecuadorian cacao. 

ECUADORIAN CACAO

  • Country of origin: Ecuador

  • Cacao bean: Arriba Nacional / Fino de Aroma

  • Flavour notes: Ecuadorian cacao is light, smooth and silky. We find it slightly sweeter than Peruvian cacao.

CACAO AND SSRIs

If you are taking SSRIs or are sensitive to caffeine, we suggest taking a maximum of 10gm cacao a day and seeing how it affects you. Cacao naturally produces serotonin, which can create issues if you are taking SSRIs that also chemically produce serotonin. We advise you to speak to your doctor if you are unsure.
