EU & International Customers
While Brexit seems to have made the process of us sending you cacao more complicated, we are determined to not let it stop us! Thank you in advance for your patience. This process has not been smooth and we are still learning, while navigating our way through the chaos!
1. Please check customs regulations for your country
Please check what the customs regulations in your country are before ordering. We do not take responsibility for any charges you may incur.
2. The weight of your purchase will determine the custom and tax duties
Depending on how much you buy, there might be custom and tax duties to pay at your end. Unfortunately we can not anticipate how much this will be.
3. Paperwork is delaying shipment to EU customers
If you are ordering Cacao from us from an EU country, the paperwork required seems to be making parcels take a lot longer than usual.
4. We use DHL for international orders
If you are placing a large order (over 2 kg), we will send this via DHL, so the delivery time might be quicker. Please email Jo on sales@ritualcacao.co.uk for a quote if needed.
5. You may be charged extra for delivery, not for the product
Cacao as a food product is not subject to import/export tax. Any extra charges are likely to be on the delivery only. This also applies to books. This is valid for items entering and exiting UK. Regulations might be different in your country.
6. We will refund any outstanding VAT charges
If you are buying any product that includes more than cacao (cup, goddess or services) you will be charged for UK VAT at check out. This amount will be refunded to you as soon as possible. You will likely be asked to pay VAT at the receiving end, depending on the delivery country. We don't want you to pay twice!
7. For orders over 10 kg please email us for a quote
If you want to place a wholesale bulk order (min 10 kg), please contact Jo for a quote for delivery within the EU on sales@ritualcacao.co.uk.
8. We will refund you if you are unhappy with any extra charges
If you placed an order and are unhappy with the customs and duty charges, you can refuse to pay them; your parcel will be returned to us (this usually takes about 1 month). We can then refund you the value of the cacao from your order (not the shipping costs).
9. We cannot guarantee the delivery price
We have tried using various custom duty calculators, but these don't seem to match the experience people are having, so we can’t guarantee the costs until the parcel has been received in your country.
